Located in southwest Michigan, Elzinga & Hoeksema Greenhouses is a sustainable commercial operation with over 30 acres of greenhouse production, producing a wide variety of flowering annuals, vegetables, herbs and accent plants.

"By making sustainability a cornerstone of our organic greenhouse operation, we're doing what we can to rectify and repair the damage that has been done to the earth. It's our responsibility, and it's one we take seriously here."

People are getting smarter about taking care of their health. And organic food is an important step in that process.

That's why we've constructed one of the Midwest's first commercial organic greenhouses. Because we're committed to growing organic as an important part of helping people everywhere – and the environment, too – reap the benefits of going organic.

Our new greenhouse is 100% dedicated to growing organic foods.

USDA organically certified by the California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF), the greenhouse features a totally separate organic growing area. Absolutely no synthetic pesticides or fertilizers will be used during the growing process, and all greenhouse employees have been trained in organic handling methods.

But that's not all. The building itself is eco-friendly.

Key features of our new greenhouse include a closed-loop ground heat exchanger (a renewable geothermal energy source), a closed-loop pressurized hot water heating system, high-efficiency condensing boilers, solar panels, and in-ground heating. Why? Because we're committed to giving back and doing good.

So what are we growing in the greenhouse?
